Dr. Dorothy Ndletyana joined FirstRand in October 2010 after
spending 11 years at Deloitte. She served as Head of Learning at
Deloitte and her primary goal was to develop excellent leaders who
are capable of adding disproportionate value to clients. Her
outstanding achievement was establishing Deloitte's Centre for
Leadership as well as its Coaching Centre. She also led the team
responsible for the delivery of the Annual Southern African
Partners and Directors Meeting.
Dorothy holds an American Fulbright Scholarship-sponsored
Doctorate from Columbia University in New York where she spent five
years studying and working. She was awarded the prestigious
scholarship in 2000 to specialise in Adult &Organizational
Learning and Leadership.
While studying, she held a position as a Global Learning Manager
at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu's (DTT) Global Human Resources
group. While in that role, she designed Executive Development
Programmes for Deloitte partners and directors; implemented
e-learning processes in approximately 16 European countries; and
facilitated Multiculturalism & Inclusion processes.
She is a proud alumnus of Wits University where she completed
her undergraduate and Masters Degree studies in Adult Education.
Her education and work experience in the US and South Africa has
deepened her knowledge of Talent Management including Leadership,
Human Resource Development and Multiculturalism & Inclusion. As
a result of her travels, her intercultural competence is
enhanced.
Strategic thinking, development and execution; programme design;
evaluation and facilitation; leading teams and managing complex
programmes and living with passion and energy are particular
strengths.
Dorothy Ndletyana is also a qualified Associate Coach, certified
by UCT's Graduate School of Business' Centre for Coaching. Dorothy
loves qualitative research. She has regular opportunity to work MBA
students on leadership topics and and to supervise research report
for GIBS and UJ students.
She lives in Sandton with her husband, Mcebisi and their two
children, Sabatha (5) and Naledi (2). She loves spas, spending time
in the bush, playing golf, reading and travelling.
Key responsibilities
Dorothy serves as Head of Learning and Talent Management for FRCC
and works closely with Elizabeth Maepa and Gcobani Fipaza on Talent
Management (especially Leadership Development) for the First Rand
Group.

• Documenting current Learning and Development (L&D) and
Talent Management (TM) practices for FRCC and later for the
Group
